Ice fishing guide or area

Well we tried the ice fishing thing yesterday here at home. Get to the lake and spend 40 min getting holes cut. I just couldn't get the auger to bite. We fished for a couple hours I lost one small trout on a barbless spoon from our Yellowstone trip. Then my son and I each missed a fish. We went to our local sporting goods store (Roger's Sporting Goods) Great people and great place to shop. The only thing they had for ice fishing was new auger blades. So we got a set made the 35 min drive home had to get a cut off wheel out to get the old blades off. Finally get the auger back together and head back to the spot. Well we are talking about my sons summer fishing trip with his buddies after they graduate this year, we had a couple chairs from the pop up blind in the back of the truck to set on. The dang handle of the auger hooked in the strap on the chair my hand slid and those blades cut right through my brand new gloves and sliced my thumb pretty deep. Well I was leaking all over the place so I wrapped it up the best I could and went home so the wife could patch me up. So we at least made it on the ice but no fish have been caught yet. Looks like its going to warm up here and be 50 by the weekend so I guess that was our one chance. Back to beaver trapping if the ice melts
