Pretty amazing how far the extreme anti-ESA environmental nutters will go towards protecting a successful population recovery within ESA from the evil, "Trophy Hunters" and "Slow reproduction" would lead to the Griz extinction... Care of colorfully written, Yvon Chouinard. Well that and the $$$ he (Patagonia) have directly used and provided to other extreme enviros.

Interesting, there is always a ton of bear activity in that area. Wonder why they think its any more dangerous now. I also went to the USFS site for Beaverhead-Deerlodge NF and can't find the closures listed there. Might be they're just behind the curve but, one would think something like that would be posted on that website almost immediately - definitely before it made the paper. Their Alerts & Notices page is severely out of date - last entry is 2017.
