Not me, but I have a friend looking to go sometime... Where is an Affordable place to Book a hotell in Honolulu ? I was looking for him and They start at around $150 / night for the Chitty places. Is this true ?

Any link would help, thanx

We went to Honolulu a couple years ago, think I paid about $100 a night and stayed at the Pacific Beach Hotel. Got the rooms off Hotel.com or what ever it is. Pretty old place, but clean (minus the sand everywhere) and good enough to sleep in, course, I've slept in some real dives so I don't have very high standards. LOL They had an awesom seafood buffet, was like $40 all you can eat, sushi, King crab, etc... good chit.

Why not look into package deals. Sometimes in the off season they have deals that include airfare from places like LA and 4-5 nights lodging for $4-500

He may want to look into a vacation rental house - those can sometimes be had for a great price. He can take a tent and just hit the state parks. There are showers out on just about every beach :D

There are a few hotels down at the end of Waikiki beach (near the zoo) and some a few blocks off the beach that will be cheaper. That is on Oahu at least.

Why Honozoolu? Maui is no kai oi! Is the best if you don't speak hawaiian. Better island, lots to do, and there are some cheap accomodations. I'll be back there this summer running charters. Anybody planning a trip over give me a shout and say howdy.

Ridge Runner - we'll be on Maui sometime next year. It will probably end up being in the summer, since Michael is in school now. We stay in Kahana. Do you operate out of Lahaina?

I went to the Big Island and then flew to Honolulu....if I were to do it again I would skip Honolulu and spend the time on the big Island. Stayed at the pacific beach hotel also and couldn't agree more with Bambistew assessment, its a place to sleep and was the cheapest we could find. BTW "city view" means the side of the building next to the hotel.

Honolulu would be great if you were from Tokyo or just wanted to brush up on your japanese. Try the other islands. And I doubt the price will get much less than $100 per night unless he is on a package deal or rents a suburban and sleeps in the back.

OK, now that Christmas is over I'll let the Cat out. I bought my wife a 7 day cruise to hop from 5 different islands. It's not for a friend. I just wanted to book the Hotel before Christmas, but still have pleanty time

We have a 2 night stay prior to the 7 day cruise before and a night at the End. I was just looking for a Place to stay for around $100 a night. The cheapest place I saw was around $150 and went up quick. Hell, all we need is a Bed to ... Uhhh sleep..... and take a shower after going to the beach.

We are going from Feb 17th - Feb 27th.

Congrats Moosie - it will be a fun time for sure.

As far as the comments about Oahu, I would have to agree. I lived in Millilani (middle of Oahu) for a time and though I really enjoyed living there, I would have to encourage people to see the other islands. There are things that can only be seen on Oahu, and you should spend some time there (Pearl Harbor/Arizona Memorial, Punchbowl Cemetary, PCC, North Shore), but I would only plan 2 - 3 days there then head to another island.

We leave the 16th get to Hawaii the 17th (Actually 16th night jsut after midnight). The 17th and 18th nights we stay around Hono. We're on the Ship Feb 19th. Deb 20th were's in Hilo, 21-22 we're in Kahului, 23rd in Kona , 24th-25th in Nawiliwili then back in Hono on the 26th. We fly out the 27th Morning back to Boise.

cool gift..what's it gonna cost her, a giraffe??

HAHA.. I'm guessing I'm still Behind. If you've been following my Hunting schedule the last couple years you'd have to agree. The cool thing is I like the warm weather. I like Diving, I like laying in the sun getting cancer. It's as much my vacation as hers.

The cool thing is I'm not paying alot. Airfair is around 800-1000 each but i have frequent flyer miles so I used 80,000 miles and fly for free. That AK airline credit card is paying off. I also went to AK 2 times free this year too. Th ecruise is a 7 day cruise for $499 a piece, with tax is jsut over 1k. Thats not a Bad deal if you ask me..... ? With not spending much on the the Cruise and flying for free the $150 a night for 3 nights was killing me... But, I guess We have to do what we have to do. I'll mess with Priceline.com and see what they have I guess....

But that I could...I'll be payin' off Christmas til June it looks like....good luck with your plans.
