But if I do all those things while driving mountain roads while hunting And I need to figure in the cost of beef and subtract the 200lbs of meat I got, it’s all justified.

I calculated my price of antelope meat from the other weekend. Buck + doe = ~60 lbs of meat. Out the door around $5.50 - $6 a pound. The only thing that's changed for me is lodging due to fuel prices. I'm not cancelling any plans, just changing how I operate. I initially was going to haul my camper around, now I'm just going to tent camp or sleep in the truck. Looking into back seat air mattress or foam if I don't tent camp.
Just a few months ago I ended up buying a 3/4 ton Ram diesel over a F250 7.3. Dammit. Although I'm not sure if fuel efficiency would be any different.

I have this entire season through muzzy booked with nothing over 75 miles from home which is kind of normal for me. Pretty much walking in from trail heads. I can't see gas prices changing my plans.
I read on here about the awesome deer hunting in Eastern Mt. but even if I decide to do that I would split the fuel so not a game changer.

He’s pretty open about a liver condition that prohibits drinking and blames his wife for having a walleye fishing habit that limits his warm season activities. I’m not sure on the zins.

I think a big thing you guys arent mentioning is who pays the credit card bill. If my wife did, this would be one stressful season coming at me. Luckily I do. Haha

I guess if when you applied and drew gas prices were $3. Now they are $5 you just have to eat the increase. If it really impacted a persons finances, they won’t apply next year, but probably tell themself that prices will go back down to $3. LOL. People don’t stop spending until they lose their income and are forced to.

With practically back to back drives from GA to Colorado and from GA to Utah, the fuel price is going to hurt. Bigly.
