Fourth in the Wilderness (too many pics as usual)

I hope you filled those empty beer can/bottles full of water before you threw them in the lake when you left.
Tread lightly in MT. Must have leaked somewhere along the way.

Thanks for sharing,! It's great to see portions of this country that I haven't explored yet, hopefully there'll be a day where I can...

Great photos of some beautiful country! That has to be the happiest dog in the world. How well did he take to the pack at first?

This is GuNR's third year leading me into the wilderness with this pack. He took to it well. This was probably the heaviest he has packed at 10-12 pounds. I am sure he could do more, but no need to make him a mule. I am not the biggest fan of the pack since the first strap behind the leg rubs him raw under his leg (I no longer use that strap), but it does the job. Downside is when we are going steep downhill, the pack slips off. To tell the truth, when I pull out the pack he gets pretty excited.

Lovely pics...find any sheds on the hike, or too high up for the elk to winter in there?

I've looked at doing a big walk in there one year for the early rifle elk hunting, but haven't had good feedback from the biologist in regards to animal numbers. Any experiences on what the hunting is like mid september onwards?

Yes sorry Miller I never intended to jack the thread, but sorry we might have been kicked out of the US some time ago but the Americans can't keep me out!

Cheers
Richard
