My dad and uncle have had a tradition of hunting together out of state since about 2001 consistently. Now they are 80 and 75 and they decided that in 2022 they were going to burn their points on a General Tag and book an outfitted hunt in Southern Wyoming. No horses, no tents, no high elevations over 10k, and most importantly, No Grizzlies.

Uncle tagged out on Day 1. He has always been the one to shoot the first elk he sees. they tend to be more tender than the elk my dad and I kill.

Dad passed a few bulls before he shot this one. He said it was the biggest of the bunch.

Happy for my dad and uncle to both have success. Just wish I could have tagged along.

Living the dream. Grats to your Dad and uncle. Looks like they really enjoy their hunt time together.

2011 and 2012 we moved to a new area and basically served as packers for our resident friends. Dad was with me when I killed, and my uncle shot a bull later that afternoon in 2011. We packed camp out in a snowstorm. it was an adventure.

Lots of Great experience with those gents.

The third to last photo shows a very well loved jacket (Carhart?)

Being rich enough to afford ranch elk hunts isn’t the dream. Having a family to do this with is. Thanks for sharing.

2007 was the first year I had a WY elk tag. Dad was with my BIL when I killed this bull in a drainage with a grizzly. We didn't wait for the pack string and walked it out on our saddle horses. I let Dad ride while my BIL and I walked.
