Here's a short video of my Maryland (yes you read that correctly) bear hunt. For those of you not aware, MD offers a lottery bear hunt, which is essentially a population control hunt. It's a 5-day hunt and success rates on public land are around the single digits. This is a hunt without bait or dogs. I happily shot the first thing I saw and would do so again. The bear dressed at 102lbs and the biologist thinks it is 2.5 based on the amount of dentin in the teeth. I was thinking 1.5 years old. Either way, the smoked bear hams are the best.
