Well guys I dont post very much, But thought you guys would enjoy another desert sheep.
Let me start by saying I killed my own personal ram from this unit. I've spent alot of time here scouting and guiding. I concider this unit one of the tuffest in the state to hunt. Only because its a wilderness area and trying to get in and around this unit is nightmare.

We camp at the wilderness boundry. We call it the plane crash camp for obvious reasons. Theres a old F-15 crash there.

We rode in two weeks before the hunt and dropped offf spike camps. We would be guiding two hunter this year. I would be hunting out of the East spike camp. This camp is 9 miles from the plane crash. We dropped off food, water, tent, propane and some other misc things on the first trip.

We rode back in the day before the season to try and put a ram to bed. No such luck. Only a couple of ewes and a lamb.

Heres our spike camp.

With post like this, I think you should post a little more often, say at least 5 times per year.;)

Congrats on a very nice ram and great pics also.

Wow! No kidding on the pics. Great looking rams! Fun pics. As already said... you need to post more! Enjoyable post, pics, and story.

That looks like an old timer. Congrats 9 miles back in the desert on foot, how do you keep the meat and cape from spoiling? I bet that takes some planning

Thanks guys for the compliments on the ram. We got this ram green scored yesterday 174 1/8. The crazy thing about this hunt was the guy who had this tag this year. His father had it last year. What are the odds on that. Heres a couple of more pictures of our base camp and how we get in out of spike camp.
