My oldest daughter was home from college for the long Christmas break and was seriously devoted to shooting a big buck with the muzzleloader. She hunted almost every evening and only had one shot at a decent buck but in the 5 seconds it took for her to get the sights on him and decide that he was a shooter he was gone into the cedar trees again. She kept at it and never saw another buck bigger than a 1.5 year old. Yesterday when the weather turned even colder and the wind was howling she decided it was time to shoot a doe with the revolver if she had the chance since she wants to fish a little more and has to get back to college. We cut a few branches from a cedar tree and snuggled back into it. She had the sticks set up for a steady shot and an hour later 3 does stepped out. She got the .357 on the sticks and folded one with one shot at 63 yards. It was great season to spend time with her in the woods. Carlee even hunted several evenings on her own and learned a lot this year. She got a bow for Christmas and will begin bowhunting next year. My guess is she will do well at that as well, she has a knack for this stuff!
