Here in West Central Indiana we have an absolute ton of coyotes. . .its the perfect environment for them and they are prolific breeders! This hunt probably barely touch the numbers but thought you might enjoy this pic. (I believe 74 were killed over the weekend). The fawns, quail, rabbits, and pheasants, were glad to see this I'm sure.:D

In a few months all the new born pups will fill in the void.Yotes are a tough animal to keep in check.I can trap the heck out of them one year and the next theres just as many. Was this mostly dog hunting??I always wanted to do a yote hunt with dogs

Agree! I think that is what people don't understand about them, they control their own populations.

No dogs allowed here for coyotes. You can hunt them with a helicopter and a mini gun though if you had one.. . .pretty much anything that goes bang is legal.
I get invited to go to these a lot, and decline because I think when there is cash or guns involved for the winners it brings out the cheaters for sure....( running them with 4 wheelers, shooting them days/weeks before freezing and then thawing them a couple days before, etc) Just not my thing I guess, but to each their own. I had a guy I know from my area that won one last year....killed 14 (2 people 2 days) he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn standing in it.... told me they "walked them out" I said BS....haven't talked to him since.. lol

I didn't realize you couldn't hunt them with dogs here. Has that changed in the past year or two? Guys running their dogs drive all over the roads where I used to live to chase them down.

That is a pile of coyotes. I use to call lots of coyotes, but never once took part in a contest. I have never liked the idea of making any kind of hunting a contest. All the areas that I used to hunt in southwest Arizona, are now difficult due to all the clubs and competitions, not to mention, now everybody that can afford an electronic call is out there educating them.

I gave it up.
