Hello everyone. I'm new to the forums and have a question. I'm looking for some info. on unit 78 in Colorado. Does anyone have any information they would share on the area north of Chormo. I'm headed there in a few days on archery elk hunt. I'm thinking Navajo pear area or buckles lake trailhead. Any info. Would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Oh the ol' new to the forum request for the Navajo 'pear' area huh? Colorado Palisade peach area is excellent this time of the year - you are hitting it very good. Bumper crop!

I've never hunted it, so take this with a grain of salt. I worked about one day on the south side of Navajo Peak, about 10 years ago, and remember thinking it looked awesome for elk. It was mid-summer and I didn't get too far off the road. I haven't spent any time around the west side of the peak.

I've seen elk south of Buckles Lake when passing through during the later rifle seasons. I'm sure they are in there - maybe a little higher - during archery season.

No real experience here.....good luck.
