California Blacktail Hunt 2011

Had a great year this year. I have been looking at all of your guys' great pics, so I thought I would share and post some up. This trip is an annual one for me and a couple buddies. It's not always easy, as it is a grueling backpack trip in hot temps, but we usually find some bucks. This trip starts off my hunting season as it starts in late September.
We had a fun hunt, and went 3 for 3 this year.

Sometimes I wonder where some of these deer could be getting water. While packing my buck down through a timber strip I found this little seep. No indication that there was water there at all ( no grass, willows, etc.). Thought it was kind of cool.....lots of game trails into it also.

We had about an 8 mile pack out with 3 bucks that was no picnic, but we enjoyed it when we were back at the truck.
