Tomorrow morning I will be leaving with a group heading to Sturgas but stopping in Iowa to visit my son. I may take off from there and ride to Sturgas but undecided at this point.

Anyway Over the weekend I got hammered by chiggers I can deal with them. I also the doc thinks was a Brown Recluse bit. Very nasty infection. I'm on Doxycycline which over night knocked some of the redness out only. I'll know by this afternoon if thinks will go smoothly on getting rid of this infection.
I had a Brown bite back in 74 while in the service and almost lost my left arm, I got after this bite quick so maybe it will be ok.

I got bitten right on my beltline while in basc at Leonard Wood and lost about a nickle sized chunk of flesh ... very uncomfrtable.

I got bit beginning of the summer. My arm was swollen from wrist to shoulder. Had to got to surgeon and get it landed while on antibiotics. Hurt like Hell and is still a lil sore.

Great news Doc say's it may not have been a recluse , the Doxy is kicking it's butt and looking good. But to be safe take the entire regiment of pills. I think I will .
So off for a ride to Iowa in the morning to visit Jake . PTL

Skimmer , that happened to me in the army and landed me in Isolation for 2 weeks with a nasty staff infection.

I got nailed by a brown recluse while on a firex at 29 Palms some years ago, the bite was on my left hand and it swelled up horribly. The Navy Doctor that administered the anti venom shot was a hottie but not worth going through that experience again. Good luck on your ride!

Sturgas is that place where fat beer bellied wanna be bikers go. A bunch of guys from work are going and they don't even ride bikes. I think they jus wanna look at fat chicks with tattoo's. I know a few of them girls from Phoenix that ride there bikes all the way up there. For all that go ,Have fun .Don't run into any Deer while riding..........BOB!

4167 miles. Visited my son Jacob in Iowa. Then headed for the bike rally. I stayed about 90 minutes from Sturgis on the reservation where I hunt turkeys and did about 400 miles of riding the Bad Lands. Awesome ride !. I procured a ranch to hunt birds along the Cheyenne river. Got a great deal from Tom the ranch mgr. Plus lined up some turkey hunting on a large farm in Ky at my buddy Ryan place on the way home. So it was a good trip except for Jacobs transmission dieing while I was visiting him on the way out. As fait would have it, Dad payed for a rebuilt tranny.
I avg. 10-12 hrs a day on the bike. Took my tree stand seat cushion with me and I had a good time. Hit cruse control, layed back and enjoyed the scenery.

The spider bit , that was gone after a couple days of the Doxycycline
