Anyone else getting their flights lined up for a white sheep hunt this year? Dink are you going? I think Critter booked a hunt. We are going to need to do some hiking to get into shape buddy. :D

The down side is that I'm now #2 on shooting order so I told my brother to get one on day 1 so we can get it out and go and get me one :D We do it kind of crazy in that we don't fly in and try to do a hunt in 5 days. Not the best scenario for finding and killing a legal ram but it's all I have. I'm leaving Aug 13 and coming back on the 19th. Good luck to the rest of you guys and believe me I'm not taking for granted having a brother up there. I know I will look back someday and be glad I took the opportunities to go especially considering the price break we get for the relative thing.
Here's my hunt from last year. I just wish everyone could experience a Dall sheep hunt once in their lifetime. Plenty of die hard killer hunters on this site that could pull it off.

Oh, since I think I heard you say you were going to pay for my hunt, I'm totally game.:D

June 25 is my start to get my tail in shape date..........You ready for a morning hike every day??

I don't think I'll be paying but I'll gladly borrow that gun you just got :D What days are your hunt?

The only reason Lawnboy isn't paying is he said he was buying his wife some more furniture and me a ticket to go with him.:D

Well, since we are going to be right in the middle of building a new house, maybe I'll play the furniture game with her..............the hard part is going to be the 10 days in september i'm going to Colorado and the 5 days in Colorado for lopes:)...........Glad I forgot to put in for Kansas:)

So this is how this is going to go down. You tell Jen, I have cancer and that you need to take me to Alaska for a once in a life time hunt before my health goes to pot. While on the trip I help carry critters rifle that you sniper a trophy ram with. While you are shooting the said ram, I find a big gold nugget which heals my possible cancer. Just as the ram hits the ground Critter walks over the hill being late due to TSA pulling him off the flight and delaying him a few days for questioning. (His luggage still arrives with us...thats how we get his rifle.) Critter helps pack the huge ram and extremely heavy nugget down the mountain. Everyone returns home.
To sum it up:
Lawnboy gets trophy ram.
Jenn gets furniture
Sweetnectar gets nugget and cured
Critter gets stripped searched, questioned, and in better shape

Its a win win win ....and sort of a win.

Nice plan Nectar.
Critter I'm going to refer you to the "Randy's one time pay off plan" I'll let him explain. You're young enough it would be beneficial for you to follow said plan.

Nectar is building a new house as well and he would also benefit from Randy's pay off plan.

Me, well I'm screwed because the Mrs. knows the plan but wants to ammend it to more items.

Please note: It is very important that Randy's pay off plan remains a one time pay off plan. Otherwise, it develops into something only an accountant can figure out.

For sure. One-time deal.

They pick which house it will apply to. They don't get a new allowance every time you move or build a new house. Once they sign the deal, how much hunting you get to do stands for the rest of the marriage.

So far, has worked for me marvelously. Best money I ever spent. ;)

I even had enough miles to get a free flight up to my nearly free Dall hunt. Aug 8th-21st.

Pretty sure I'm going to buy the Griz tag this year and have that option if needed.

Headed out for a little weekend backpack trip. Taking my little friends for practice.

Yeah.... good call. A couple years ago, when my brother submitted his job location preference to the DEA, Anchorage was at the top of his list. I kept my fingers crossed while we both waited on pins and needles.

He ended up getting assigned to Laredo, TX.

I'm going to take a different route on getting in shape..............I'll be packing my own sheep:) But I wouldn't doubt with my luck, that the TSA crap really does happen;)

By the way, had the rocks we were shooting at today been sheep...................it would have been all down to the packing:) 1340 yards was the farthest rock we whot at today.......

What days are you going? I'm thinking that gun needs 2 sheep under it's belt before rifle elk and deer start here.:D
I would love to have a gun like that.

Dude.... Good luck to you.2nd shooter is closer then where most of us will be this year. Looking forward to the pics !!!

They are like giant weedeaters this time of year. Never look up.

I didn't scream, just shrieked a little bit and let a couple of drops of pee hit the shorts, just a couple though.

Me and my little friends got away from the scary bear.

The weed eaters left me some treats.

Back out with sore feet.

Glad you were able to control, sort of, one of your bodily functions.

This Training Weekend brought to you by Depends.

Glad someone is able to get out. My elk unit is experiencing mid 90s temps right now. My only 'elk' anything has been with a #10 elk hair caddis--got some float tube time on a Rim lake and ripped some trout lips this weekend.

Thanks for the lift.
