My wife just got a call, one of her friend's husband was shot and killed this morning. He was out on a jog in North Carolina where he is based with the Army. He was shot on accident by a hunter. Know where you are shooting.

Very sad. Prayers for that family.

I hope I never am involved on either end of a hunting accident. Just hard to imagine shooting some one by mistaking them for a game animals.

I don't even know what to say to my wife. Not sure how make her feel better, convince her it will never happen...just stumped and mad. I know that it was an accident, but it is just unbelievable.

My prayers are with you, your wife and her friend. I don't know how this happens as often as it does.

What sicken me, as hunters we know the dangers of going into the field. Jerry was not hunting, he was running by. Just not right, stuff like this happens, I get that. Just never this close, I have spent the last 7 years telling my wife this doesn't happen.

My prayers are with that family.

Man we all need to rethink what we do in the field. I remember Fin telling me not to take a skyline shot on an elk and thinking nothing would happen. Well I don't know that anything would or wouldn't and the point is I need to eliminate, as much as possible, any chance that a missed shot ends up hitting some unsuspecting bystander.

Real sad

Prayers Sent.
It is hard to see how this could happen but the point is that it can happen to anyone.
Stay strong my friend all of us hunt talkers are here to do whatever we can.

unreal, there are some real idiots out there that are allowed to hold a gun. How someone can mistake a human for game is beyond me. I hope they cope well
