  • Hi, It looks like you have had an elk tag in WY unit 25 before. I have a cow tag this year. I haven’t had any time to come out and scout with work and kids (I live in Michigan). Wondered if you would be willing any tips on where to start in the unit. I would love to hike in somewhere, but it looks like there are roads all over. Thanks if you end up getting this before the season is over!

Yes, found them three days in a row. Made a solid shot on one, but it rejoined the herd of 500 and went onto private. Couldn't get access to search for it. Punched my tag and called it a hunt. Thanks for the responses and help!!

It’s good to hear you had some good action! That’s terrible they wouldn’t let you on to search. Which landowner was it?
Hi Fremont, I had noticed your comment on an old thread about unit 97 WY antelope. I was curious if you thought this would be a wise choice unit for a first time western hunter. I have 3pp and plan to enter the special draw. I did identify the North portion of unit 97 as being interesting, and I liked that the quota for tags was lower. Any insight for a newbie to this forum would be greatly appreciated.
Fremont, My son and I drew Unit 36 Deer in Wyoming as a second choice this year. Just inquiring if you would be willing to help out some non-residents from Utah with some starting points for scouting. More than happy to help out with information on Utah and my family owns a ranch on the Pahvant elk unit if you could pull a tag I would help.
