In Dec my 180 gr bullet @ 800 ft lbs hit a doe in the thick part of the scapula and destroyed the entire shoulder, and half the foreleg meat. If a bird had pulled back the hide it might look like they ate a bunch, but mostly it’s just exposing the damage.

I don’t think it is exit wound damage. There were no bone fragments and no evidence of that kind of damage at the shot location.

In my experience birds will eat the eyes first and coyotes eat the ass first. No experience with cats.
