Any plan to make roadless areas adjustable? The layer is totally useless in so many areas, specifically alot of BLM in NM, AZ, but also areas like National Forest in MS.
Why can't there be a slider or input for the roadless area so we can set for 3/8 or 1/4 mile. I understand that many people hike further than this, but I feel like it's relative to the area, and putting it at say 1/8 or 1/4 mile would show areas that might not be seen from the road.
There are no immediate plans at this time, but we'll pass your suggestion along to our Mapping Team!

The Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison National Forest grazing allotments are not included in the USFS grazing allotment layer. Plans to add them?
We've reached out to our mapping team and they will look into why those forests aren't showing that data and work to get it corrected.
I went back and looked, and those forests were showing as recently as 2-3 weeks ago. Perhaps a recent update in which they got missed.

Any update here? We were using that grazing allotment layer for a project. In our project area, it's only that one forest unit that's missing.

We'll reach out to our GIS Team to see what the status of that allotment data is and let you know when we hear back from them.

When I use route builder it will show me distance and elvations gain/loss, when I go offline it only shows distance. Is there a setting or a way to show that information offlline?

At this time, the elevation profile is calculated the same way it is for a track and this requires an internet connection. This may change in the future, but for right now, the elevation profile is not available while offline.

Yea, same problem. I don't understand why it wouldn't just save after its been calculated once, I think that the tracks do, unless I'm wrong. I had a dozen routes planned for a sheep hunt and get out to the field and they don't work...

What about waypoints? Any plans to add some or make using them easier?

It would be great if there was a library of all possible waypoints anyone could ask for, and then we add the ones we want to use to our collection. For example, whitetail only hunter could just add scrape, rub, tracks, etc. and not have to sort through qual, sheep, and sasquatch. It would be nice to have waypoints for barbary, oryx, logging road, multiple tree stand types, species specific for game like quail, bear, sheep, etc.
A second row of recent used waypoints on the app would be nice too.

The "recent" layer addition and ability to quickly to toggle a layer on and off is nice especially for layers like slope angle.

We have an update here: The data for those forests was removed from the data set we use on July 15th of this year. This was removed at the source, not by onX. We have continued to check the Forest Service's dataset, but that data has not been added back in yet. Unfortunately, until the Forest Service adds that grazing data back into their dataset, we will not be able to update that layer on our end to show the grazing allotments in those forests.

We're always looking for ways to make the app more intuitive to use, so thank you for passing along those suggestions! We will pass them along to our Engineering Team!

@onX Hunt what source do you guys use for your wind calendar? I just started using it seems like a nice feature to quickly organize stands base on wind. However, when I go look at the wind for the next day it is usually off by a lot when compared to weatherunderground and accuweather.

You have to re-download the maps after the update. Just FYI, the only difference I could find between the 5 and 10 mile resolution options for download was the resolution of the satellite image. The topo maps appear the same with each download. So if you don't need super high res imagery, use the 10 mile option as it takes up much less storage space on your phone and much less download time for the same overall area. Be sure to try switching to offline mode and using the maps prior to going hunting so you understand what level of functionality you will have in offline vs online mode.
Good info, thanks for the heads-up! That’s super helpful to know about the resolution difference — I’ll definitely go with the 10-mile option to save space. And good call on testing offline mode beforehand; that’s something easy to overlook until you’re out of service.

We partner with XWeather for our wind and weather data. Here is a support article that can provide some more information: https://support.onxmaps.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033098431-Viewing-weather-conditions

It tracks perfectly as long as the phone and app are open, but when I lock the screen it doesn't track during that time until I unlock the phone and then it draws a straight line to the previous spot where I unlocked it. This is a new problem that doesn't appear to be a phone location issue, as all other location functions have been fine. I'll send an email.
The issue seems to have self corrected, not sure if my phone or onx app needed to update but it's back to full tracking when locked.

for the love of god, OnX, put a +/- zoom in/zoom out tab on the hunt program. It ain't easy using a car mounted tablet and zooming in/out with the finger sweep while on the road (plus it also puts your location icon out of whack)

For the love of God, it's 2025, get a vehicle with Apple Carplay/Android Auto 😆

My 2023 Tacoma and 2026 CRV both have carplay and when using OnX that button you seek is there, and it's very conveniently positioned in the center of my dash 😎.
