I don't think anyone has gone after ultra processed foods and sugar like the MAHA guys have. I support a heavy handed approach to regulation here. I think the science really shows that our food supply holds a lot of blame for the explosion of chronic disease and putting the focus there rather than on just getting people to eat differently is the best approach.
I strongly support food benefits not being used on trash food with no nutrients.
They've gone after artificial dyes and chemical additives in a pretty aggressive manner.
I strongly, strongly support a shift back towards higher protein diets, full fat dairy, and lots of fruits and vegetables and get added sugar the hell out of our food supply. Michelle argued for more grains and veggies and kinda implied less meat.
I think it's becoming quite clear that the broad public health advice, specifically around food, of the federal government has been ultra bullshitty for a long long time. I personally think MAHA is going in a better direction on the nutrition front.
