Annual Dink Report: Lowering the Bar So You Don't Have To

It’s the 12x14” blackstone camping griddle with side burner. It’s great. The lid latched down on it and everything stays together nice and tight. It’s taken a beating and you wouldn’t know it.

The single burner one or does it have the dual burners? I had to ask myself why one was $50 more and looked exactly the same. Then that dawned on me. I figured the dual was worth it but if the single heats up sufficiently, fifty bucks is fifty bucks..? lol

The dual burner griddle is nice if you’re only doing the griddle but I liked the side burner for doing soup or boiling water. I haven’t had an issue with the whole griddle not getting hot. It’s kinda a do all little setup. Sure as heck beats hauling around my bigger Blackstone and separate burner.

Great hunt report and congrats on the filled tags! Fun to read about hunting on hunttalk. Impressive you know how to get it done even with a lot of pressure around.

Like the camp stove as well, and also would be interested to learn more about your meat hanging setup...obviously you're guy who knows his away around ropes and pulleys.

The green rope New England Dynaglide, it’s 1.8mm and read for 1k. I use it daily for work so usually add 100 fest or so of the retired stuff to my hunting kit. The pulleys are the micro pulleys from wiser precision. The carabiners are dmm xsre or a similar variety from a different company. I could weigh it out but 100 feet or chordage 3-5 pulleys, and 3-5 carabiners probably comes in around a pound or two.

I basically anchored a 3 to 1 setup to the pink parachord. Was able to pull 2 fronts into the tree solo. Although it wasn’t ideal. I lost two pulleys in Alaska and didn’t realize it till the day before I left. I prefer 4 or 5 to one with the thin cordage. It weighs almost nothing so packing extra cordage isn’t that big of a deal.

Sir, what a great report! I absolutely loved reading your day by day. Awesome! The ones with funky antlers are as cool to me as the big ones

Awesome stuff @Dsnow9. You remind me of my go getter SIL. If we draw, I am in for a tough Montana Breaks cow elk hunt. Wouldn't change a thing. Congrats. mtmuley

Awesome thread as always. Congrats and definitely a great break from the BS here lately.
