2014 MT Governors Sheep

Don't think this has been posted yet. Cant remember the last time the governors tag was used outside of the breaks.

"Here Area Biologist Julie Cunningham measures the bighorn ram taken on this year's Governor's tag. The sheep, killed Monday, was taken in the Highlands in a recently reopened hunt district. Cunningham estimates the sheep to be about 13 years old"

I have been seeing these rams in the Highlands for years while it was closed, hopefully they can stay healthy in the future!

I lived about 5 miles from where this sheep was killed. I have seen him 10-12 times over the last 3 or 4 years. He is by far the biggest sheep up there. I was kind of hoping this one wouldn't hit the net but that was for selfish reasons haha. Congrats to the hunter....awesome animal!

What an awesome ram. When you see who's in the photos as part of this hunt, it'll be no surprise why the hunter was able to find such a brute of a ram. Congrats to all!

Agreed MTMiller. If you look at a lot of Corey Knowlton's (center) field photos, they are of this quality. He has it figured out.

I wonder if they took any photos with the guy who shot it? So far I have seen three field pics and none of them have the guy who shot the sheep.

Anyone know who the hunter was? I don't think it was anyone in the picture.

And dang it - that was the unit I applied for. I'm so not surprised I didn't draw it......
