I have 8 preference points for nonresident deer in Wyoming. I like IDNATIVE 1948 have given my notice (after 35 years) and will be free to hunt any day I choose this coming fall.
So what Wyoming area do I apply for? Here’s my research based on help from the Eastman family’s journals:
The best areas in no particular order are 87, 89, 90, 101, 102 and 105-106-109. Any others I should look at?
105-106 and 109 are nearer to my home. Some difficult terrain. Season is the first two weeks of November which is good. 40% chance of draw for high priced tag.
Areas 87 and 89 may be a physically easier hunts. Late October time frame is OK. Access could be problem? Near 100% draw.
101 and 102 have been the best historically. Right? Easier type of hunt. Chance of a nice buck. 50% draw rate.
Any suggestion? Recommendation?
