What is the wait time going to be for suppressor approval starting 1/1/2026?

Have 2 filled out with bows on them and already paid for the suppressors so curious what people think the wait time is going to be once they open it up on January 2nd?

Google search AI says it is still going to be fast, maybe a week or two.

I'm hoping a month but that is probably overly optimistic. I could swear I read somewhere that there was 1 million pending applications but that just seems impossible and I can't find that anywhere again.

Just curious what everyone else thinks.

Thanks, Nathan

I haven't heard from anyone that seemed to have a data informed opinion on it?

They've been processing eforms so fast for the past year i wouldn't be surprised if they get through the backlog without too much drama. If there are lawsuits filed in regards to the NFA being a tax but $0 not being actually tax, who knows what happens?

Hopefully all is smooth and the suppressor market grows.

I bet they’ll be backed up for a while. I heard they’re not just doing away with the stamp but revamping a lot of the system. I’m going to wait for it to cool down then finally do a trust for my suppressors- for free. 🙂
That's my plan.
I only have two, a .22 and a .30. That's all I need right now. But they're set up as individual.

Going to file a trust to add my wife and brother in case something happens to me and my wife won't have to do the one-time survivorship transfer mess.

Then get another one or two .22 cans and call it good.

That's my plan as well! Been needing to set up a trust anyway.

Ordered a new 22 can this morning from Silencer Shop. Docusign got delivered complete within 2 minutes of checkout. Already signed and submitted.

The more i think about this - the more i think its going to come down to your dealer. If your dealer is persistent with the eform crashing and tries to submit you will get one a lot earlier than someone who just doesnt want to deal with the eforms website crashing.

Gonna wait until I'm working at the Sports show in March...
get a two-for-one, order suppressors and get to bullshit with Big Fin.
Maybe things will be a bit more streamlined by then and I'll have the
22's, the .17HMR, and the .223 suited up for sage rats in June!

Not looking especially good. Not 100% sure what's exactly happening but on my submission with Silencer Shop it is showing that filing the eform4 is "ready to prepare" and that I should contact my local dealer. Called them and they said they have the suppressors already but are waiting for approval from the ATF so that they can submit the form 4.

That doesn't really make sense to me but this is my first go at this and they told me that I have done everything I need to and that they are just waiting on the ATF approval before submitting and then I can come pick up the suppressors.

My dealer has yet to submit 2 of mine. I called about it today.

Seemingly they dont want to mess with the eforms website being buggy and it taking multiple submissions. Kind of frustrating but I guess I sort of get it.

Have two in the queue, one yesterday and the other the day before. Purchased one through Scheels and it was a breeze. The other has been pending with Silencer Shop for... 3 months? Not a fan of theirs.

Went through without issue?

Might be an issue with your local dealer.

Communications issues with Silencer Shop, primarily. They initially drafted the paperwork in the name of a non-existent trust, not the one I listed on my intake. Then it sat for a month or so. After making contact with them, they said I hadn't added a tax stamp to my cart (although I am certain I did). The website wouldn't allow me to add a tax stamp for a couple of weeks but I couldn't get a response from customer service. Then, magically, the Form 4 appeared ready to certify but I didn't get an alert until I actually went to the local dealer to see what the deal was.

Not ruling out the significant chance of operator error on my end but was frustrated with Silencer Shop's delays in responding. The Scheels process has been seamless on the three that I've bought through them now.

My form3 confirmation to ship to my local dealer hasn't come yet. Been 6 days. Last couple have been under 4. Wondering if they're just overloaded.
