What are your 2025 Hunting Plans

Lucky enough to have my first LQ (type 1) elk tag and fun antelope tag this year in WY. Drew a pretty solid deer tag, but due to timing, I donated it to the veterans list.

Struck out across the board on all other states and tags, but that's okay. I will bird hunt a lot more this year in WY, NE, and KS. Heading to Southern AZ in January for quail. Missouri on the books too.

Half done with big game already. Killed an antelope last Monday.

I have a ML deer tag starts Sept 10th.

Might actually make dove opener.

Then chukar, Huns and lions and bobcats with my hounds through the winter

General elk on the NF for archery season then private land.
Cow elk on private land.
WT license and mule deer on private, MD numbers may just be better than last year but we'll see.
Spouse has a pronghorn license here close to town and we've been seeing some good bucks, so hopefully an antelope for the freezer this year.
I may pick up a WT doe tag too.

Got a early start to this season and already have a NV pronghorn down.

Next up is dove season with mys son.

Late Oct into early Nov I'll be chasing deer in SW NM attempting to kill my first coues deer for the 3rd time (the charm right)

December will see me chasing mule deer on private land in the panhandle of TX. Hoping to end up with a buck worthy of posting on the mule deer of a lifetime thread.

In-between those I'll be chasing deer here at home in Oklahoma and hunting with my son.

Won an Alberta Mule deer hunt with my dad Nov 1-8.
Meeting him in SLC for Wyoming Antelope Hunt he burned all his points on Sept 12-14.
At some point heading to Far NE CA for dad's mule deer tag Oct 4-19

2026 is the year I want to pack in somewhere with my Mustang Filly

Pretty much the same as most years for me, just hunting my home state of Montana and will be trying to get far enough into the backcountry in some ch!thole that no one else wants to go into that I have the place to myself. If I fill a tag it's icing on the cake.

Goose season opens September 1
Wyoming rifle antelope early October.
PA archery, rifle and muzzleloader for whitetail, October-December
Probably a trip in December to the Pacific flyway for waterfowl. Something special about hunting ducks with snow capped peaks in the background.
Winding down the hunting season chasing waterfowl in the Atlantic flyway.

Helping a buddy with his Wyoming elk tag and Nebraska deer for myself and my oldest son.

Idaho Antelope - Mid Sept.
Idaho Mule Deer General Season - Most of Oct.
Idaho Cow Elk -Early Nov.
Rest of Nov. and Dec. Chasing Chukar

Gotta love my first hunting season as a retired teacher. Finally get to hunt during the weekdays for weeks at a time.

New job begins Sept 8th. Heart procedures Sept 26 & Oct 26. Was fortunate to not draw anything this year. Whitetail hunt Illinois November with my new xgun because doc says I should not draw my bow until wire in artery heals. Have no idea if new job will allow me to hunt much.

😂 2025, the lost year for me. Will have to wait until 2026 to burn points. But not complaining because I need the job bad. Will claim SS in eleven months.
