He must have been a fine man. You have honored him well.

He shared your (and my) affinity for the apostle Paul, having spent half of his life running in a terrible direction, and the second half trying to run even harder in the correct one.

This one hit close to home for me. I have always held up my own Grandfather as the standard by which a complete outdoorsman is judged. He resisted the decline brought on by aging for so long that I simply considered him superhuman.
In his mid-80's now, I am finally coming to terms with his mortality.
