For no apparent reason that I could tell. Maybe it smelled like fish, or maybe a rock chuck was inside the bear was trying to get at. Hard to say, but this kayak was stacked behind the garage with several others. A bear clawed up the side, dragged it about 75 yard down into a fully where it appears to have hung up on the rocks. And the keel got chewed up, punctured, and significantly damaged. Pretty weird. We get bears around our house every so often, it's usual this time of year, but they're not usually destructive like this.
