The Cliffs of Seduction

The troops are assembling for the great conquest into the mysterious cliffs of seduction. Low country boil is simmering, cold ones are being sipped, packs are being perfected in high spirits with anticipation of a grand adventure that begins tomorrow morning.


Inspired by celebrated author and cat walking recluse R. “WhiteSatin”Hodges, we are attempting to lure a mature billy to an untimely demise with unique and unorthodox hunting methods. We expect nothing less than spectacular success with his ground breaking tactics and goat mimicry.

I found a few billys while scouting this past summer. The views are spectacular, the company is questionable, the trek is arduous and all of us are ready to spend time away from work and in the high country.

My good friend Matt and I took an overnight scouting trip back in July. Despite voracious attacks by mosquitoes we persevered and found some good goats and lots of beautiful country.

We saw some little billys and at least three that got me excited. This unit is not known for long horned billys so my goals are for an old goat with good mass.

Ross and Dave made it to Bozeman early. We are still waiting for Ed and Randy to roll in. A huge pot of shrimp, taters, sausages and corn is drowning in boiling spiced water.

He had to bail on this hunt to spend time on a Wyoming mountain holed up in his tent from the rain. He drew a WY deer tag. Says he rooting for the goats this trip so he can join in for hunt #2 if I don’t tag out.
