Texas Hunting List...

So, what do I need to pack ? I'm leaving tomorrow !!

I've been to about 8 different states hunting including AK and Kodiak Island, Canada, New Zealand...

What do I need to pack for Texas ? Besides a Corn feeder ?!?!?!

10 gallon hat, a beltbuckle big as a hubcap and boots...should cover it.

I thought this trip was for your boy? Or is he just tagging along?

I won the hunt. So technically I need to go They said I can bring him as well. He will be slaying stuff when he's down there. Will be his first real hunting trip !!!

Make sure you get something with deet when you're down there, ticks, chiggers and other bugs will be all over the place. Loin cloth and bikini underwear will be a necessity as well.

If it weren't so far away I'd come and offer a hand at unteaching the boy most of the things he'll be learning.

Hope that it does rain a little, it might cool you down. In fact, dip your shirt in water and put it on, it will be cooler for about an hour.

Mosquito spray sounds good. Some kind of canteen to put cool water in, like with ice, it doesn't come out of the tap cool. Maybe gatorade, not water, its got salt, etc.

Find the freshest sign and wait them out there, that worked well in Atascosa county about an hour south of here, but north of Refugio county.

A spotlight or varmint light is legal on hogs at night here with landowner permission. That might be good there.

So... landed in pheonix for 10 mins. just found out ESPN radio is going to do a phone interview with us Sat. ........sounds different.... IDbugler will update you guys with some pictures. I sent him a picture of a hog we're after. Corn is already in my pocket ! So far we've had a great time. between doing card tricks in the vegas airport to listening to a guy talk nonstop for a 1 hr flight.... it's gunna be good times. I even had Oscar beg for money in vegas because he was to young to gamble ....story and pics to come !!

Long day. after we land at midnight it's another 2 hrs + to drive. Will hit the beach tomorrow early, wrestle an aligator, then off to hunting.

dead coon, bow take.... no hawgs yet. hot... slept 5 hrs last night. going to be up all night tonight. more soon

so..... never heard a boar growl like that before. Only came in within 35 yards. just after midnight. not used tohunting in the dark with the bow. wanted it to come closer but it was to weary. I probably stunk too much It's been fairly slow otherwise.
