I hope more people are seeing through both r and d’s claims. They are both so far from the core values that I feel most people have.

I think both are for sale and the oligarchy are fully willing to turn a 180 depending on how the political wind blows. The average American is sold the story they will buy and the oligarchy gets the benefit. But who should really take the blame for this situation?

I guess my point was I don’t even know what that word means anymore. The old list of “check boxes” don’t seem to apply. The one that might is “turn everything into money”.

Gotta look at the size of the tent IMO. Certainly most republicans and the more extreme democrats are far from where the majority of people are.

I think we are all influenced by what we see locally--for sure I see a huge disparity between opinions of democrats on this board depending on where they live.

I would love to see a republican who is good on conservation, fiscally conservative, but not focused on conspiracies, and looks out for the non-1 percenters. I don't see one anymore in my state---the ones I voted for not long ago couldn't get out of a primary when they still were popular with the majority. The ones I know that would like to run know they don't have a snowballs chance.

The real issue is party control over the election process. We shall see what people think of that next fall but I see a lot bigger tent on the dems side for individuals--the question will be can the moderates that most people favor get out of primaries in either party? I like the chances of that for a dem a lot more right now.

And taking that to conservation related issues that's a slam dunk for me. That was not always the case, its changed a lot over the last 20 years or so. I see little threat to the guns I use or hunting from Dems where I live--I know that's not the case for others.
