My dad lives on 40 acres with a stream flowing through his back yard. Western Ma. Hill town country. He dips every day. Therapeutic for his 88 yr old bones. That water will take your breath away in August. More pure than many mountain streams in the West.

Rainy day hike with the Mrs. in the Virginia Blue Ridge on the Appalachian trail, celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary.
Years ago in NE Nebraska on a Sunday morning I was driving along a highway, there was a tractor with a boat trailer backed into an irrigation pond behind a guys shop, on the opposite side of the pond there was an old boat about 50’ out of the pond with a fresh skid mark where the boat had gotten to full speed before launching out of the pond. The sad part was I was certain I knew how it played out behind a shop with a bunch of bored farm kids drinking the night before.
