Suggestions for Old Arrows?

We recently found this pile of arrows while going by through a deceased loved one belongings. Most of the unused ones are Easton XX75 2219 and were shipped new in 1999-2001.

Does anyone have suggestions on what I should do with these? They are way heavier than anything I have ever shot but I’m curious if they worth keeping to either try in a new set up or let the kids practice with? I would imagine arrows have come a long way since 2000 so just trying to understand if there is a market or use for them?

Check with an outdoor archery range. Btw, 2219s were very popular for high draw weight bows.

Fwiw, you probably can sell them on eBay or maybe here.

They worked great.

But that could probably be said about most of what's in there.

It would take a pretty sad broadhead to not kill a deer shot in the lungs.

I grew up shooting aluminum arrows. I believe my dad used to hunt with the same ones. He never switched to Carbon because he still had aluminum. He shot recurves but unfortunately, has shoulder issues now. They would still work if you want. Use them or I'm sure someone would want them.

I shot those same arrows as a young adult. You can still find some of them in my mom's yard staking up plants along with the odd speargun shaft. Cool find.

If you currently shoot archery, measure them and see if the spine will work with your set up by adjusting the broadhead weight. Re fletch and have at it.

Buy some full length feathers and make Flu-Flu's out of them and you and the kids will have a blast. Shoot at drones for fun!

I used to shoot xx75 2219 for many years. Both with my recurves and compounds. I used wasp, Zwicky, Savora and Bear razor heads. The recurves were 81 pound Shaefer takedown and a 72 pound Bear Custom Kodiak TD. The compounds were 70 and 80 pound bows. Fletch them with 5 inch vanes or feathers and hunt them. They are good arrow just have a tendency to bend on occasion but they can be straightened.

You can make some "cool arrow" awards. Hang one on a board and give it to a friend you consider an A=Hole buddy. FYIW - Spanish word for A-hole is close to "culero". I got one from some friends in NM when I misunderstood their pronunciation of the word. A great award that hung in my office for years. LOL.

Google says the spine size is 0.337”. Is that essentially between 300 and 350 spine that I shoot now?

Set-up a bow for a kid and let them lose them all practicing. They would have a lot of fun doing it. Likely not properly spined and too long (for a kid) but wouldn’t matter just for messing around.

That's what I did with a whole bunch of old arrows I had, cut them to length for a kid.

Go to the bottom. 2219 is pretty versatile. Unless you're and ape or a midget, it will likely work with a good range of draw length, weight and broadhead weight changes.

2219's are Easton crossbow arrows as well so they can be repurposed for xbows.
