I get it , my cousin was that way as a kid. He would jump on a snake to catch it . Me , not so much .I bred and raised corn snakes and sold them at reptile shows through high school and into college. This is me after help (wife). I’ve caught a couple hatchling bull snakes and raised them up but ended up releasing them where I found them. I like leaving wild snakes in the wild now (after I catch and photograph them of course).
In Michigan we had Blue Racers that would get over six foot long , and if you chased them they would turn around and charge you while shaking their tail .
