Sell Me On A Case Trimmer

I couldn't be convinced to go back to anything where a guy has to trim, chamfer, debur in different steps. I have the giraud bench trimmer which is a great option but expensive.

The Forster trimmer with 3-in-1 (trim/chamfer/debur) cutters and a drill adaptor works but by the time you buy 5 different 3-in-1 heads you're probably close enough in cost to justify the new henderson style trimmer from hornady.

I agree. I typically don't do a super high volume, and because of that, I don't mind the manual trimming step. But I really don't like the manual chamfering and deburring process, even for runs of 50-100 cases. That's why the Hornady 3-1 power trimmer is on my shopping list, just waiting for a sale or some type of promo from Hornady.

First batch of .338-06 run through the Wilson today. Super easy and consistent after I got it dialed. Tapping the case mouth out of the shell holder using a block of wood felt a little weird but overall pretty pleased with the setup. Thanks to everyone for their recommendations.

Well, I use a Bridgeport mill and a vertical quick release collet holder I made a fixture for and an emergency collet that has been bored out to just close enough to grip the case and not mark it. Repeatable, fast and accurate.

I’ve trimmed hundreds of several different calibers on the Foster Original. If you go with a Foster of any configuration, I recommend buying a set. They sell trimmers with collets and pilots included. That way you’re not buying additional tiny bullshit things + shipping that make the whole deal functional. Ask me how I know.

Need to pick up a new rifle brass trimmer and would like to hear what y'all love/hate about your current setup. I'll be trimming .338-06, .308, 6.5 Creed, 25-7 PRC, 25-6.5 PRC, .257 Roberts Ackley, maybe some .223.

I had a Hornady Cam Lock trimmer in the distant past but lost it in the move. I didn't find it to be super user-friendly. I won't be trimming a ton in terms of volume, so I don't need a high end commercial grade trimmer. The LE Wilson and Little Crows seem pretty interesting to me but I'm open to suggestion.

What say ye?
L E Wilson case trimmer gave me the best consistency of anything I tried
