Screen names & avatars

:D............my screen name is Dinkshooter. I fwd'd this to sneakem to post for me. I picked the name because the self proclaimed lengendary guide and my bestest friend, Mike Brownlee, hunts in my favorite unit, killing all the biggest deer, leaving me only the small ones, hence the name Dinkshooter...

……………the avatar is a picture of me and my boyfriend playing guitar hero. :hump:

Glad I wasn't drinking when I read this...:D

I used to run to the top of Sugarloaf in the warm months followed with a swim in the Lower Harbor. Nice place with a great view but the water even in august was cold enough to make you feel like you had been castrated. I loved the Yoop.

My username was given to me by a couple of hunting buddies because no matter what I'm hunting deer, bear, elk, lion , coyote or whatever all I ever seem to see is elk so I ran with it.
My avatar is a picture of my dears 2 and 4 legged

I agree....Lake Superior is some cold water and the view from Sugarloaf is excellent. The family and I try to make the climb every fall when the leaves are changing.

My wife and I saw "What Map" on an Idaho truck and really liked it so we checked if anyone in Montana had it. It was still available so we took it. We've heard but I have not verified Montana has more vanity plates per capita than any other state.

Diane and I like What Map becuase we love driving back roads without the use of maps. We call them a "noider" (reconnoider).

I've been an EOD (Bomb Squad) tech and in the Army for 16 years and my name is Ray.
My Avatar (which I can't get to show up on here) is this last year in Afghanistan on a year long hunting trip for IED's and insurgents. Yes I have filled my taggs on both.

Mine is Montana and Clacka for the Clackacraft that you'll see me rowing down the river. I spend most of my non-hunting time flyfishing all around Montana, but mainly on the Bighorn River. My avatar is of this years archery antelope. I was solo with only my Iphone, so no hero pic. I kind of like it though...

When I was first creeping on the forums, "Ashersdad" was posting more regularly. As I am the father of three, and from Kansas, I then chose "kansasdad". Had that one been taken already, I had planned to try out several other names, including "Kenyaboy" (lived in Kenya as a kid) or something related to dentistry (dentist).

I heard Les Stroud use the term "Map Porn" one time because he was addicted to looking at maps on his computer while planning and scouting for his next trips. Well, I'm addicted to anything outdoors includings scouting, canoeing, hunting, fishing, camping and anything I can fit into my busy schedule. The more remote the better! When I can't be in the outdoors, I follow Les' lead and pour over google earth, topo maps and other forms of "Map Porn". I figured "Outdoor Addict" didn't have a good ring to it, so I chose "Outdoor Junkie". It's the Journey (planning, preparation and the hunt) and not the destination (taking an animal) that I truly enjoy the most.

oldman = my wife says I'm an old man in a young man's body
357= i never am in the field with out my Ruger service six, it's my first handgun and it's never let me down.

I like being anonymous. I can say anything I want and nobody knows who it is. :) My avatar is a mountain goat that committed suicide by jumping off a cliff after I shot it.

Seriously though, I post under my own name to remind myself that words do matter and I don't want to say anything that I wouldn't tell someone to their face.

Several years back I got my scuba certification. I didn't know about Hunt Talk then but I talked football with some other ASU fans on a blog and became DDD.

My screenname is what I do as a hobby ,antler or horn, art, I make things out of antlers, my avatar is of the bull elk I shot with my muzzleloader on my mobility impared hunt

Picked it up when we got our first computer (actually when I realized they were more than a five hundred dollar card game). It's from my first traditional bow, a 62" Savage River recurve by Dave Guthrie of Appalation Archery. Took my first archery buck with that bow in 1994. Avatar is a trail cam pic of a neighborhood buck.

Muzzlehunter, I got my first muzzleloader 22 years ago and thats all I've hunted with since then. With the exception of a few antlerless tags I've used a rifle on.

Sandhiller, I grew up in the Sandhills of Nebraska and it reminds me to never forget where you came from and plus I love hunting there.
