One grandson is my head wood chopper/kindling cutter at our cabin. He started hounding me last fall for his own axe (not a hatchet Pop Pop). Ace Hdwre had a boys axe that was perfect size, but no sheath. So... back to the bag of elk/deer leather. Gram said I should make a rustic one for him.

 
Very nice! I am sure he wil cherish this for years.
 
Looks great. I've been thinking about making a replacement sheath like that for my old Boy Scout hand axe from the 60's.
 
That's very nice to see Santa putting in that kind of thought & effort, it will mean much more than a quick-n-easy gift bought for the young man ever would. Nice looking craftsmanship too!
