One grandson is my head wood chopper/kindling cutter at our cabin. He started hounding me last fall for his own axe (not a hatchet Pop Pop). Ace Hdwre had a boys axe that was perfect size, but no sheath. So... back to the bag of elk/deer leather. Gram said I should make a rustic one for him.

Thanks MTE! The antler tip gave me some fits though. I forgot how hard they are when it came time to file a notch in it for the string.

Looks great. I've been thinking about making a replacement sheath like that for my old Boy Scout hand axe from the 60's.
