Retail Theft Impact on Purchased Goods

I have family member that once worked at a trendy grocery store as a teenager...... after witnessing so many thefts she quit because she did not want to be a part of an organization that stood by & openly let people steal things.
she was not permitted to say anything if someone walked out without paying......

I am glad that she took a stand for what is right, why cant more adults do so as well (& companies too)

I've often thought stores in high crime areas should setup their vestibules with quick closing high security doors so that when someone obviously steals and walks out, you push a button and trap them in the vestibule until the cops arrive to deal with them. Since we know this isn't going to happen, it ought to be 100% legal for law abiding citizens or store employees to tackle and beat the snot out them.

Wishful thinking ......

I would like to think that paying a CEO an asspile of money they could figure out a way to stop theft at the stores they are responsible for. I mean, isn't that part of the job?

Nahhhh, lets let the cashier or front door greeter take care of the heavy lifting that are making $15 an hour, or even better yet, honest customers that give us money to take care of it.

What a joke.

I mean, if you're not willing to take a knife to stop some random weird dude from stealing fritos and cherry coke, maybe not your Qwik Trip material.

Well, I mean that $12 an hour job is absolutely worth getting shot, or shoot some freak stealing some frito's and a cherry coke...all...day....long.

I mean, that sounds more like a job for ICE.

Folks, yall are looking at this from the wrong angle, this is a clear intersection of social justice and human rights. Basic foods items, such as the aforementioned cherry coke and Fritos are a necessary, guaranteed human right. If the Govt is not providing those items for these individuals it is their right and responsibility to reappropriate those collective goods. It’s just basic decency. To state otherwise is to perpetuate the systemic injustice in the nation.

Could ya snag me up a case of Sudafed while you're expressing your disobedience with the Man?

I remember an America when you could get as much concentrated ephedrine as your heart could take before all this nanny state "lock up the ingredients to meth" BS that's going on now.

Make America Speed Addicts Again

Chuck D prepared us for this.

A true dream job for retired LE folks : over watch of the Walmart self- checkout lanes armed with a paintball gun from an elevated position 😈

I wonder when the free stealing started. People in my high school were arrested for stealing and one changed price tags.

Somebody must have done the math and decided it wasn’t worth the time or effort. Judges stop prosecuting?
