Havn't picked up a recurve for big game hunting since age 6......And I'm gonna try it.

if a 60" recurve is 50 pounds @ 28" draw, what is the ballpark poundage at 30" draw?

I think numbers can vary quite a bit depending on the composition and materials of the bow but I heard it is 2-3 lbs. per inch. Hopefully someone can chime in and let us know.

Depends. The better bows will 'stack' less, but I'd guess anywhere from 2-5#s per inch would be close. FYI, if you shoot a 30" draw with a compound and a release you're draw will be quite a bit shorter with a trad bow. I shoot a 31" compound, but 28" with a recurve.

Actually, with traditonal bows,I have heard that 6 to 8 pounds per inch can be expected;once past the set draw weight. However,I can't say for sure.
