We’ll the ice season wasn’t all that long this year here, I might be able to sneak out this afternoon, but 2 days of 50’s and 40-50mph winds is beating the ice pretty good. Made 1 good trip to Wyoming, and did really well on Crappies here. Found a good spot on a local big lake. We probably caught 150-200. Ended up keeping 52. Got a large bonus perch which are kinda rare here too. Probably make a trip or 3 up to South Dakota to extend our season a little bit. Pics are my wife kids and some friends. My son, and a few I nabbed slipping out for a few trips by myself.0B19D02F-016A-4BF5-8F82-FCE77436C647.jpeg350B0358-7375-48E7-85F3-E797935313F7.jpegE37C992D-EF26-404E-88B7-DE31E3CFC8F7.png1ECD1A9E-94BF-4786-85F7-DBA18DCBBD0F.jpeg

Envious. I bet those cold water fish taste really good. They look to be in really good body condition, especially those 3 big whites.

The 10-13”ers under ice is about the best fish there is. We threw quite a few 14”+ females back. I think a lot of people do and that’s what makes it such a nice lake for crappie. I’ve kept a few 15”+ fish over the years, but they just seem to have a much stronger taste. Doesn’t bother me but my wife and daughter are a little more sensitive to that stuff.
