This will be a classic thread..

You cannot thumb through a magazine or catalog today without a ton of hero shots. Usually some smiling hunter with a oversized kill in the latest ultra camo with a new techno-bow or magnum rifle.

Most of the photos used for these are staged hunters in action, really funny stuff. Lots of antlers tied onto packs that have been seen in multiple ads, probably taken by somebody else decades ago. Basic kill shots are usually typically animals taken on limited access private land and guided hunts, etc.

Not all, but most. There's got to be some damn funny stuff to post.

Who can find the ultimate.. super poser of today's hunting ads?

Has to be some of the shots in Eastmans. The one with the Caribou and lightning flashing was my favorite.

Here was my attempt at a Guy Eastman shot last year..........................but I couldn't stop laughing long enough to get it right.

There are some Crazy classic shots I'm sure but I don't thumb through mags too much.

I find the Whitetail deer hunts on rnaches over feeders a little more "Poser" then a Big critter in a mag,.

I love the hero shots. I like some of the poser shots too... And I take lots of pictures when I go hunting no doubt.

But some are damn funny these days. Check out the Eastman's, Trophy Hunter, Outdoor Life, Huntin Fool.. all of them. Look at the advertisements in particular. The set up shots are best. I'll have to scan and attach a few of my favorites. The guys leaving the 5PM stubble on, painting up their faces, standing on a cliff with a ton of gear (ie. pillows and cotton balls) in their hardly soiled backpacks, in the latest brand new techno clothing and boots.. and the best part the Derek Zoolander Blue Steel look on their face as they clime up the cliff with the 20 year old rack somebody else shot tied to their pack with an arrow nocked....

That shit cracks me up..

This one of cameron hanes wyoming whitetail has to be the gayiest out there IMO this fall, he shots the thing down in the river bottoms but drags its ass up there on the edge of a cliff to pose with it?

Come on -- nobody can find a funny ad? I've been searching for my all time favorite, but haven't found it yet. A question I've got - when taking an action hunting shot of packing out a big set of antlers.. how many guys typically boil out and bleach the skull in the field, before packing out.. all the while leaving the impeccably badass face-paint is un-smudged?

Cabelas usually has a few of those shots, but since I started sending back their hard cover editions with my opinions on their real estate ventures, I don't see that rag much anymore.
