Other Big Game .... Let's see them!!!

Nice, which area did you draw the auodad? Me, my buddies, n oldest grandson can’t draw sh*t!!!
As non-resident, drew Devil’s Ridge though that area above Del Rio has been morphed into different hunt choices in recent years. Took about 10 points before my name got drawn. No bag limit on exotics when I hunted.

I had gathered quite a few points on my own but I want my friends to go w me; especially a bud from Montana, so my point totals took a severe hit!!! Slowly building back up again. N my grandson has 4 points on everything now, the only problem w that is the youngest grandson turns 8 in mid February, so if he happens to draw before the oldest….well, u can imagine the hell that will be raised!!!
I got drawn back in 89 at the Chap for archery deer; nice 8pt…joined the Corps so was out of the picture for a while, then got back at it since then…been to Kerr archery deer n got a Sika…but no joy since…some of my friends have done well on standby, just can’t see justifying taking a chance on that when I have a place to hunt 15min away

Ill join the party.
Axis porcinus, south east australia.
Unfortunately wer'e in a draught which didnt allow me to hunt the Victorian high country for Sambar, hopefully next month as im sick of missing out on a decent hunt.

Palo Duro for the Sheep?

Palo Duro for the Sheep?
Unit was the Devil's River unit. Was parceled soon after and a new tract of land added as its own hunt.

Here is the email I sent my older brother the day I got drawn in November 2012:

No access into Devils River unit on this hunt except for tag holders so will be solo for me. Tag holder can tip over any and all exotics but no mule or whitetail deer. In the unit the exotics are auodad, corsicans, axis and fallow deer and some hogs. Last year was 127% success (since no limit to numbers you can shoot is over 100% success as each animal counts as a separate success) but since you are assigned to "compartments" is a bit hit/miss if you are in a target rich environment.

Hunt is March 15-18. Steep stuff and no cell coverage. Supposed to be interesting country but lots of cactus spines to navigate.

Below is write up by a hunter from 2007. Drought may have reduced numbers. The hunt is above Del Rio down a loooong gravel road.

I did a write-up at HuntTalk in the Texas Forum (yes, things were a bit different in 2012):
