Great stuff, but interesting mishaps.

I do feel like if I had stayed and kept grinding on it I would have killed a bull. I was seeing elk the problem was it wasn’t the way I wanted this hunt to go. I was looking for a screaming match in the timber and the elk I saw seemed not into that game. Besides almost blowing myself up I’d say the biggest regret is not bringing that rack to put my sxs in my truck. I could have hunted a lot of stuff different by dropping my machine and hiking to it

X amount of vacation and the weather that set in I was gonna loose to much time waiting for it to dry out to get my sxs back into where the elk were.

My job is pretty good with getting a text saying I won’t be into work for a week but at the same time I only have x amount of vacation. I have some other hunts I’m interested in doing this fall still and this just added a week to that time if things line up right.

Soccer game at 9 then I’ll break off and get some stuff ready boy has a hair cut at 1230 then we head east to find an antelope. Gonna be a blast my 7 year old wants to sleep in the tent tomorrow so that’s the plan.

Running a little behind but should work out fine. Probably just scout tonight so we can drop the hammer tomorrow. I’ve said that the last 2 years and have just shoot one on scout night. Having the tent and my boy wanting to camp we will probably actually hold off tonight. He has a apple juice and some nerds and his game boy one happy kid

Well tomorrow brought a lot of rain and some 41 degree weather. I didn’t care to get my truck off the red rock and my kid isn’t hiking in that far in this weather. He had a great trip and really enjoyed the tent which surprised me given the temp and thunderstorm we rode out last night. Pretty happy with his attitude this weekend given the weather today.
