Opportunity has a shelf life

Last night I watched a bull at almost 5 miles feed out and move across a face. This morning closed the ground and missed on my ridges found him again this time still over a mile out. Was hoping he would bed in the open but they took off back into were they fed out of the night before. I got in there tonight and waited till almost dark. Thought I heard an elk in the aspens below me hit a few cow calls trying to speed it up. Bull comes ripping thru the trees and stops at about 50 yards. This isn’t a trophy hunt for me but he got a pass I couldn’t kill a baby

As I write all this im sitting outside my camp cooking a rib eye in the dark listening to a bull work his cows… I hope he has a nice night I’ll be looking for him in the morning
You keep pounding ribeye's like that and your shelf life certainly is going down🤣.

Rained hard last night like over an inch hard. I slept in sure the elk felt the same way. Gonna go hit the timber see what happens

Good luck. This evening will be action packed if the weather starts to clear. I bet the elk didn’t go far if it rained hard last night.

Cooking last rib eye of the trip. I’m putting what I can of camp away and heading home in the morning. It’s rained about 2” today. Even if I wanted to go back into were I did see some elk idk if the sxs would make it in. Got a flat on the trailer. My spare is low my chuck for the compressor isn’t working and rhe little pump for the sxs quit me also. Quite a few people showed up today my guess is they will hunt till deer opener. Hopefully I can get my stuff up onto the gravel without issue.

Trip is really going to hell in a hurry generator ran out of gas and I over filled it started it up was running funky so I unplugged the trailer the spark set off the excess fuel. I threw the can and went and got some water
