No more best state for hunting

Alright, what is the worst state to live in if you live to hunt and fish. Doesn't matter if we are talking feathers, fur or fins. Time to string up a state. Be able to defend your answer.
Let's assume you can only afford to play in your own state. I was going to choose Hawaii, but then I remembered TX.
Let's fugg with someones state.

I've never been there but from what I've heard my vote would go to Alaska. I hear the road hunting is terrible there. Hunters there suffer from a serious lack of good roads, and even the ATV trails are not maintained very well. Not only that but there is no mule deer hunting.

I think Viriginia's got some good hunting. Seriously. Much better than Alaska. My 2nd choice after Alaska would be Rhode Island.

I don't know, i think every state prolly has good hunting in some form or fashion. Rhode Island has good squirrel and pigeon hunting! Good ol Red Ryder country there! JK, I seriously know nothing about that state.

..seriously, Texas gets my vote as far as deer type game..small private parcel lease prices are spiralling...put & take (score pay) high fence is booming...minimal public opportunities....etc.

Idaho is probably the worst, and certainly the most overrated. Not even close to as wonderful of hunting opportunities as Montana, Wyoming, Colo, Utah, Nev, New Mexico, and AZ.

New Jersey. Small deer, gun laws and added deer, turkey permits are almost impossible to understand. The laws are open to interuputation. Limited land, almost no private land to hunt. Too many hunters. Jersey attitudes.

I hear Hawaii's got some decent upland shooting if you can get access - Francolins, exotic pheasants, and chukar. The rule of hunting only on wednesdays, weekends, and holidays would suck though.

I would guess the fishing would be pretty good though.

Green pheasant, Kalij pheasant, Hawaii Blue pheasant. I don't know if these are different names for the same bird, but they aren't ringnecks. Maybe somebody here has bird hunted there and can fill us in. Hawaii has Japanese quail too, I guess.
