Same for me and my son.

I think next year, I will be in a max point pool for antelope that has more bonus tags than there are applicants. So, I am hopeful for next year.

But, with my luck, there are probably a dozen guys who have been on the sidelines jsut buying bonus points, and will decide next year is a good year to jump back in.

I will have a lot of money invested in this one antelope tag, by the time I finally draw. Oh well, probably would have just spent it on less important things.

I'm curious how many people applied for more than they did prior to the rule change?

I went ahead and applied for a tag or a point for all 8 species. I figured that even if I don't really want to hunt something now, I've still got a lot of hunting years left (hopefully).

You never know what the situation is going to be 10-15 years down the road. It seems that wildlife departments are changing the rules every few years. It will be interesting to see just how bad the draw odds were this year due to the new non-resident rule.

In the past I have only applied for deer and mountain goat. This year I added pronghorn and elk. I have the feeling there will be more changes in the next few years and I will be priced out of some critters, so that is why I only added elk and lopes.

If I can get my deer and goat out of the way in the next couple years I will be done with UT, but I will stick with lopes/elk until that occurs or until they price me out.

I don't care much for the changes they made this year, but if I want to hunt the UTard state I gotta put up with it.

No love for me but it was expected with the few points I have for elk and moose. I added deer and lope to the app. I had the same thought as miller did on the sheep and goat.
