Needed a better self defence gun, semi-auto shotgun. Friend called and said check GrabAGun deals on Baretta A300. Never heard of them, but not being a GUN guy makes sense. Done and on way to local FFL. Cost a little more than my Rem 870 Express I bought in the 80's.
12 G, 19 1/2 barrel, holds 7/1. Perfect.
My 1st online gun purchase. A breeze.

Pics?

Who would have thought a thousand dollar shotgun would become the affordable option. I see the Benelli M4 is in the 3k range now.
Neighbors getting a little creepy Hank?

I think I paid $275 for my Remington 870 years ago. That thing never failed me.

I did look at a couple more Baretta's...sp?...$1000-1500. Did not indulge the look at Binelli's.

Local neighbors have been the best Hem.
The 2 new hobby ranch out of staters at the end of our private road are a ?, and the number of folks going in and out & I do not recognize the trucks has me locking my gate when gone.
The newbies in the few subdivisions are also on the ? list with the county's long list....LOL.
20 yrs of LEO and I went to a HS that had more people than this county, keeps me aware.

I paid full pop with my old gunshop, $500? Big 5 had them for $300 2 weeks later.
Love my 870.

I started looking for a Mossberg 200 like used in the service.

A little over $900 delivered. $35 for FFL.
I made up a huge chunk with trade of 5 16" Tacoma wheels and new Coopers for 3 trailer loads of quality firewood delivered by my woodcutter/guide buddy.
2 years worth of wood. 3 years in stock.

Which color did you get? They are GREAT guns and made at Beretta's Tennessee plant. Those and the Mossberg 940s are the lowest priced semi's I would trust for defense.

Get at least 100 rounds of 1.25oz or hotter loads to break it in. Winchester has a magnum dove out these days that's about the cheapest for that.

If you get out of order in your loading sequence you can lock those up to the point you need to drop the trigger group to get the shell out. It's an operator error. I've done it on two different A300s. Only hit the button on the elevator once, basically.

Just FYIs. My A300 Ultima is my favorite duck gun ever.

I own an A300 for a beater waterfowl gun and shoot a 1301 tactical as well, both are very reliable and soft shooting. You chose well.
