good riddance to the deputy warden thing, it was always rife with corruption and cronyism. Barney got a badge and a gun to go with his grudge, which in Yinzer country might go back to when Grampy shot that big buck just as it was jumping onto Pop's place.

Open fields is right there with the federal migratory baiting laws. an abomination.

I did always want to get a ticket from Jack Lambert when he was a deputy warden though, alas he didnt patrol that far north...

My family has lived on this Pa farm for over 100 years. Gun safety, respect for wildlife and attention to the game laws has always been taught.
Never once have we had a negative interaction with a warden.
It seems some people have loads of negative interactions. My gut tells me there might be a reason.

Worked with a lot of them over the years and while it's possible for one to have a bad day, just a few were what I would call not good with customer service in encounters. If someone dealt with one of them all the time I could see a negative opinion developing.

But..no different than a regular LEO--treat them with respect and it generally goes well. Don't and you take your chances.

That's here though. Might not be fair but I have noticed lots of people from that part of the country come on more aggressively out of the gate.
