Nevada mule deer, rifle, public land, Unit 242, Day 3 of 5 day hunt. 10/29/2025. Unbranded Outfitters. Saw about 300 mule deer in different areas of the units (241-245).

Clover Mountains north of the Tule Desert, Nevada. Big country - beautiful.

Extremely blessed, thankful, and grateful. Good luck this season and happy hunting to all, TheGrayRider a/k/a Tom.

468 yards, slightly downhill with a buddy’s custom-built 300 PRC. Outfitter was able to film the shot with his spotting scope - pretty exciting to review.

Congrats on a great deer! I dont hunt Nevada but I'll bet those who do would appreciate you taking the unit number out of the title. Was guilty of it myself at one time, so I say that with the utmost respect, not trying to shit on your thread.

I think sometimes we can be a little to conscientious regarding disclosing the unit someone hunted.
That's regarded by a lot of people as the best unit in Nevada.
Epic listed the draw odds for the rifle hunt as 0.7% with 31 points.
I don't think he's doing anything to those odds by posting his hunt story.

Thanks. I'll edit my post.👍

And honestly, people need to get over this "don't post the unit...blah..blah...blah.." crap... When people post them it's usually like 8-20+ points...so it's not like every Tom, Dick and Harry can get a tag anyway...

Nice buck OP....

I use to draw Nevada 041-042 a lot. Not a very popular area but it holds some pockets that have big bucks. I never told anyone where I hunted. Its easy to find out Nevada would post your name and what area you drew. 041-042 is not an easy area to hunt. Mostly sage and juniper. Lots and lots of glassing for hours every morning and afternoon I hunted chukar and drew all my antelope tags there. I knew the area really well. It was a huge area I rarely saw another hunter. Place was full of arrowheads added a lot to my collection. Picked up some impressive drops over the years also

The other issue was that few nonresidents applied for it. My friend from California drew it twice in five years.
