Willing to trade mountain lake fly fishing for bass.... Beautiful country DS. Closest I have been is Mountain Home and Yellville area, so more east of you.

That place looks awesome! Congrats to you and your wife. I don't know how "relaxing" it will be. Between the remodeling you were up to and all of the adventures you can have close at hand, it might be enough to wear a fellow out.

Bass, deer & turkeys nearby. Sounds like a pretty great deal.

You might want to check out Stephen Hunter's series of book about Bob Lee Swagger. The first one was the basis for the movie Shooter. He's from that part of Arkansas and the first two have lots of the story line/action taking place there. Be kinda cool to track down some of the place names.

He writes about the town of Board Camp which is just east of Mena. That is where my son's grandparents live. That whole area is nice.

We looked at a few areas around Board Camp. Too grown up for what I was looking for, scattered Subdivisions that didn't make it, ect. The man that runs cows on part of my place and watches over it is named Parker, direct desendant of Hanging Judge Parker. He was telling me stories of Belle Star and her Hideout being up on Poteau Mountain. He said in the Spring you can look up on the Mountain and see a tower of steam coming from a Waterfall that falls into a basin that the water has worn a hole in it and the water hits in the Basin, then drains off into a creek. I got to have him take me up there on the Mules! John
