Missoula, Only 20 miles from Montana

Spent a lot of time in Missoula during the month of May. Was there for my daughters graduation and back this back long weekend for four days for a wedding. Anyway the town was a hopping on Friday and my crew along with my brother and his wife decided to head to Ciao Mambo's for dinner. While waiting the standard "15 to 20" minutes we got witness the Comic Con parade.

I had to telling my 19 year old son to close his eyes on this one

Anyway I always enjoy the sights and smells of Missoula.

Paul's Pancake Parlor got our business three days in a row for breakfast. It is always good.

Not sure I was mocking them for their choices in life. I am hard pressed to figure out another Montana city which one could happen upon such a scene. Missoula just has that vibe, the people on parade were having a lot of fun and appeared to enjoy those of us watching them do their parade. I don't knock anyone for the way they want to live their lives just was more making an observation.

Missoula was packed with the Comic Con, State Track meet and 4,000 people attending the Jehovah Witness convention at the U of M campus. That makes for an eclectic bunch of people in town.

I did not get a negative vibe from what you wrote. What you observed was out of the ordinary and I see no harm mentioning this was not something you encounter on a regular basis. I like diversity. I can still mention that a person with a parrot on their shoulder does in fact have a parrot on their shoulder. The parrot is something the person can control so is not a cheap shot as would be the case if said they were short or albino or disabled or made a judgement saying they were wrong or going to hell, blah blah.

We have comic con and a Santa Run and all sorts of things around here that is quite odd to encounter. Nothing quite like a Santa passed out on the sidewalk during shipping season.

Missoula certainly has its share of different folks but I like it and it's a fun town to bum around.

Some of the stuff is a little odd by my standards but I'm pretty conservative and they aren't hurting me so I don't pay it much mind.

To each his own, some things that I enjoy some people might find a little odd too.

Like sitting for hours on a frozen lake trying to catch 12 inch perch. My wife thinks I'm an idiot for doing that and sometimes I agree!

Sitting for hours to catch 12 inch perch isn't all that weird. Sitting for hours to catch 9 inch perch is the common theme of ice fishing around here. That does get close to pegging the weird meter IMO.
