I’ve got a basement full of animals and I couldn’t guess how many coyotes I’ve shot with my savages. Some people might not like them but the accu-trigger is by far my favorite and I’ve had timney and trigger tech. The only rifle I’ve had misfire was a tikka I raised the bolt and hit it again and I killed a good muley. I had hunted in the rain the day before. It’s never done it again since.

I have a Savage 111 with the accutrigger. Sometime towards the end of the pandemic, once Nosler got 30-06 ammo back in stock, I started to get misfires after never having one in the prior eight years. Typically one round out of a box of 20. I took the bolt apart and gave everything a thorough cleaning. Had the dreaded 'click' this year when I went to make the shot on a cow.

After browsing this thread I'll take some of the weak primer strikes out to the range And mash the trigger to see if they go off.

I shot 40 Hornady Superformance 150gr. SST's out of my Savage 110 Ultralight. 1 primer had to be hit 3 times to go off. Top right in the photo.

Hornady means inconsistent and poor QC. Just don't.

I had a similar issue with my relatively low round count (200-250) X-bolt 30-06 which would "light strike" with Barnes TTSX 165 and 180gr factory ammo. My gunsmith extended the protrusion of the firing pin by "a few thou" and that appears to have resolved the issue. My guess is that either the firing pin protrusion was a little short, or there was a little extra headspace in the chamber, allowing the round to sit too far forward of the firing pin.

You likely did not have the center part of the AccuTrigger fully depressed and flush with trigger when pulling the trigger. My dad and uncle have both had this issue with their 220 shotguns which has that trigger. Idk how this doesn’t get more attention but is a big no-go for me. Easy to happen with gloves in a hunting situation. Dad has missed two opportunities and uncle at least one. All their primers from shells that didn’t fire look like yours. They were convinced the shells were the issue for a while.

If you want to try and replicate it load the gun and point in very safe direction and just pull the trigger without pressing the center part. You can do it unloaded too but you will think it fired as it’s hard to differentiate. Idk what to call it but the firing pin falsely? moves forward a bit and you have to lift the bolt to reset.

The Accutrigger has a habit of no resetting if you have side pressure on the center lever as well. We fooled around for an entire F class match trying to figure it out on a Savage model 12 rifle. I am not a fan of that design, so we swapped out with a Rifle Basix trigger and it shoots like a champ.
